Bull Shark in Pensacola Bay
This one turned out to be funny after the fact but could have been really bad. We were cobia fishing and Craig needed to head in, so he decided to swim in to the beach. We eased into the shallows but because of the size of the boat, were still 75 yards or so from shore. Craig jumped in, and at the same time I spotted a fish swimming just feet off the beach. We immediately realized it was a large shark on an unbelievably exact collision course with our buddy. We began screaming to him to let him know, but he thought we were joking. We really didn't realize just how dangerous the situation was until the shark turned towards him in the water. This is when I drop the camera(where you see only my hand) and begin screaming as loud as possible. You can then see Craig stand up in the water, face us, still thinking we are joking. Then he sees the big boy just feet away from him and hightails it out of the water. We saw at least thirty sharks all told during the day. They were extremely active for some reason. Thankfully, not quite active enough to dine on a craig-sandwich! Craig, you are a lucky boy!
